# Stephen Milligan

Stephen Milligan (12 May 1948 – 7 February 1994) was a British Conservative politician and journalist. He held a number of senior journalistic posts until his election to serve as Member of Parliament (MP) for Eastleigh in 1992\[1]

## Death

Mr Milligan, 45, was found dead at his home in Chiswick, west London, yesterday afternoon by his secretary, Vera Taggart. One officer said: "The body was naked except for a pair of stockings and suspenders." Further details of the appearance of his body - including a black bin liner over his head and wearing stockings and suspenders - were consistent with auto-erotic sex practices. \[2] The inquest was told that Mr Milligan, 45, was found dead on the kitchen table at his west London home, with his clothes on the floor. A cord was around his neck and tied to his feet, his head was covered and there was an orange in his mouth. Police searching the house discovered no pornographic material, which the coroner said was 'often found in these cases'.\[3]
